A recent study by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported that people in the state of Kentucky happen to lead the most sedentary lifestyle in the country. Apart from that, it was also revealed by researchers that the most active lifestyle was led by people living in Colorado.

The latest compilation is the third such study that has been carried out by the CDC. Prior to this research, the organization had looked at diabetes and obesity rates across all the states.

Talking about the conclusion of the study, Director of the Division of Diabetes Translation, CDC, Ann Albright, said that this was the data compiled by researchers gave an exact picture of the problems of sugar, obesity and inactivity faced by people in Southern and Appalachian areas of the country. She added that the compilations clearly showed the relationship the three problems had with each other and how inactivity gradually led to obesity and diabetes.

The current data was collected from 3,141 counties across the country and assessed by researchers regarding the levels of physical activity. States with the least physical activity were Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Meanwhile, the highest rates states were California, Colorado, Minnesota, Washington and Vermont.
