Widow criticises ambulance service

After her partner died from a severe ant-bite reaction Katrina has urged St. John Ambulance to develop their ambulance service so that no else has to face the tragedy she has endured.

It is said that on that fateful day, the ambulance arrived late after receiving a distress call from John Banks who was stung by an ant while working for the City of Bunbury on Parade Road. John had a severe anaphylactic reaction after the ant bite.

In a letter written to the ambulance service, local politicians and the health minister Katrina said although she is aware of the fact that nothing is going to bring back her partner to his family, she just want to make sure that this incident never happens again to any normal hardworking and loving family.

Katrina also mentioned in her letter that her husband has called her at 9 am in the morning to inform about the ant –bite. When she reached there at 9:30 am, she found out that ambulance was late by 30 minutes and her husband is receiving resuscitation.

John Banks, 48 died in Perth Royal Hospital the next afternoon. Doctor said John had died because he has lost brain function.
