Demi Moore to sell two 19th century paintings in NYC

Demi Moore is selling two 19th-century European paintings at public sale, as well as a French work the actress says encouraged her because of the artist's drawing of strong women.

"Frere et Soeur," is painted by William Bouguereau's. It is an oil painting of a young woman affectionately holding her baby brother, could obtain up to $1.5 million at Sotheby's on Nov. 4. In 1887 the French artist painted it, whose work is getting pleasure from improved notice.

"Mere et Ses Enfants" is Moore's other painting. It was painted by Belgian painter Alfred Stevens. The painting is estimated to bring up to $200,000.

Moore said that she loves both the painting but it is time for a change the redecoration and new trend our home is taking.

In 1995 the actress purchased the works at a Christie's auction. She paid $178,500 for "Frere et Soeur" and $200,500 for the Stevens painting.

She found Bouguereau to be mostly engaging for her personally and have special to hold on to a smaller piece to carry with her throughout the years. She is known for her work in such films as "Ghost," "Indecent Proposal" and "A Few Good Men."
