Bastille Day Garden Party Cancelled By President Sarkozy

Bastille Day Garden Party Cancelled By President Sarkozy

Paris will witness a majestic military parade on July 14, which is celebrated as the Bastille Day, in France. This day marks the commencement of the French Revolution.

It was at this day in the year 1789 that the French people got into the infamous Bastille prison, which is situated in Paris.

However, the conventional Elysee Palace garden party will not take place this year. The decision has come in the wake of an austerity drive, which has been started by the party of President Nicolas Sarkozy.

However, the administration's decision is being criticized as the French Independence Day should have been celebrated with fervor and the President could have made the party simpler rather than calling it off.

The people have numerous options of celebrating the day. They can attend the performance of the band Deep Forest, which would also feature Thierry Eliez. The band has also been awarded the Grammy award.

They can also don their party outfits to visit Franklin Park Zoo to socialize. People can also cook delicious dishes at home by viewing online recipes of Patricia Wells, Sheila Lukins and Julee Rosso.

The movie buffs can also visit the yearly Boston French Film Fest, which is going on at the Museum of Fine Arts.
