French Minister's Wife Quizzed in L'Oreal Heiress

According to a recent report, the wife of Eric Woerth, the labour minister of France was questioned in regard to a financial scandal surrounding Liliane Beetencourt, who is the heiress of L'Oreal.

At one time Florence Woerth worked for a firm, which managed the assets of Bettencourt.

Bettencourt is also the wealthiest woman of France. At that time her husband worked as budget minister and also, managed funds for ruling conservative UMP party.

There were accusations that the minister had interfered in the affairs of his wife. The incidence came to light in the wake of recordings made by the butler of Bettencourt.

Excerpts from the transcript of the testimony of Eric Woerth were published in Le Monde newspaper.

Patrice de Maistre, the Wealth Manager had disclosed that he was asked by the Minister to give guidance to his wife regarding her carrier.

On Tuesday, the Minister revealed that he was not seeking employment for his wife.

The ruling party was about to give its nod to the questioning of worth on Wednesday.

Also, a previous bookkeeper for Bettencourt has alleged that Woerth accepted an unlawful donation from Bettencourt. However, Woerth has refuted any such allegations.
