Georges Kiejman, the lawyer of L'Oreal heiress has informed that the French police are inquiring her about the finances, which involved the Government. Ms. Bettencourt had allegedly financed the presidential election campaign of Nicolas Sarkozy.

Liliane Bettencourt is being questioned at her cottage in the Paris suburb of Neuilly. The investigation also includes the tax evasion case.

It is expected, that the police has investigated about the two hidden Swiss bank accounts and an island in the Seychelles of the cosmetic queen. The police found out about her Swiss accounts and island through her recorded conversation with her financial adviser.

Investigators have also asked her about the allegations made by a bookkeeper, who said that Liliane and her husband financed the elections of conservative politicians.

This case of tax evasion has come into light due to the family disputes in the Bettencourt family.

However, Sarkozy has dismissed all these claims.

Forbes had listed the 87 years old Bettencourt as the richest woman in Europe.

The reports about the link between Mrs. Bettencourt and Sarkozy election Campaign have stunned all the authorities.

Bettencourt's previous account holder, Claire Thibout brought this case to light, according to which, Mrs. Bettencourt donated 150,000 Euros to Sarkozy's election campaign. His fundraiser Eric Woerth was also involved in this fiasco, who is now the Labor Minister.
