A recently discovered video has shown that police in Paris had brutally expelled the Africans and their children on July 21.These people were residing in a suburb. The video that emerged is of 30 minutes duration. The video has shown that women and children were screaming and crying, as they were being dragged out of their homes.
These 60 immigrants were staying on the streets in the Paris's La Courneuve district. These people were evicted from their homes, as the authorities wanted to start a new housing project in this area.
According to Michael Hoare, a spokesman for Right to Housing, these immigrants were basically from the Ivory Coast.
Authorities had offered them an alternative to stay in hotels, but they declined to accept any other short-term alternative. These people have been staying in France from the last three to ten years. Few of these people, however, were willing to stay in the hotels.
However, none of these people were hurt seriously.
A journalist known as Michael Hajdenberg has also confirmed that police cruelly sent this people out of their houses.
After this video was found Christian Lambert, the police commissioner has issued a statement and said that forcible eviction of so many people was not easy, especially when the residents started a protest.
