Tiger Airways See Rise in Bookings

While Tiger Airways Chief Executive, Tony Davis, refuses to divulge any information for he wants the abroad and local competitors to keep going with the guesswork; the aviation major has anyways announced its performance of the Australian operations.

The Tiger Airways has announced that its Australian operations have improved in comparison to the previous year.

"There's no benefit to me or my shareholders in giving our competitors either in Asia or Australia the detailed breakdown of our two businesses", said Mr. Davis.

Three years ago, when the airline began domestic flights from Melbourne, the critics had argued that this third airline would not succeed. A net profit of $S1.9 million was announced by the airline, for the first quarter of fiscal 2011.

Having already seen a loss of $S6 million, this turnover said Tiger could have been even better if it did not involve the critical foreign currency rates.

The passenger fares were high from $S3.20 to $S77.4, following the passenger load factors, which is said to have risen by 1.3%, taking it to 84.2%.

Mr. Davis further anticipated basing four of the new planes in Singapore, for which he said the bookings were going well in line with the recent trend.
