Corning to Acquire Plaslab: Intending Diversification

Corning Inc. said that it would purchase French plastic-labware manufacturer, Plaslab SAS, and is anticipating the accord will be completed by the fourth quarter, since it intends to go in for diversification and part from display glass focus.

The terms and conditions were not publicized and the firm officials could not be reached for their comments upon the same.

The acquirement is going to include a huge set of samples, tests and analysis items to offer its labs such as Petri dishes, to the firm's life-sciences division.

In the most recent results on quarters in the previous month, the unit posted a 6% rise in its proceeds.

This seemed to be the weakest of the entire firm's named units, which contributed to 7.3% of the Company's entire sum earned.

In the month of September of the year 2009, Corning purchased plastic labware manufacturer, Axygen Bioscience Inc.
