EasyJet under Pressure Due To Disabled Passengers

After reports that budget airline EasyJet did not allow three unaccompanied disabled passengers to board its flight, French Transport Ministry has stressed that Easyjet may have to explain for its actions.

EasyJet refused to allow three passengers to board its flight and the passengers have submitted a complaint to the authorities on this issue.

French Transport Ministry pointed that EasyJet needs to explain its actions and it cannot escape responsibility by hiding behind safety regulations. It feels that the actions of EasyJet were discriminatory and put these passengers in an uncomfortable position.

EasyJet has also confirmed that it is working with the French Government to resolve this issue and also wants to take care of all the safety regulations.

Meanwhile, Transport Minister Dominique Bussereau has instructed civil aviation authority DGAC to look into the complaints of these three passengers. If EasyJet is found guilty, it may have to face sanctions and may also be fined by the French authorities.

A Frenchwoman had told media persons that she had not been allowed by EasyJet to board a flight from Paris to Geneva. She was forced to buy new tickets to fly with a companion on the next day. She admitted that she had complained to French discrimination watchdog, HALDE about the way she was treated by EasyJet.

On the other hand, EasyJet stressed that it refused to give permission to these passengers to board the flight due to the European safety regulations.
