Israeli researchers have done a study and have announced that women who use IVF treatment for getting pregnant have a better chance of its success if they laugh during that time. In case they use the services of medical clowns the improvements are better.

In the experiment some 219 women were studied and it was found that the chances are twice as much as normal women. For that they need to have the fertilized eggs implanted and then should be entertained and laugh for the same to reach uterus.

Medical clowns come in the way when the women need to be made to laugh. It was found in the end that some 36 per cent of the women on whom the study was done turned pregnant and for normal women the level was at only 20 per cent.

The findings had first appeared in the Fertility and Sterility journal and the findings had been presented in other conferences as well.

Dr Shevach Friedler, who led the work said, that laughter was important since it worked as a "natural “anti-stress mechanism".
