A new study says that the cases of Heart Failure patients are rapidly increasing these days. Doctors say the reason behind this might be the patients going through worse depression of their life. A team of researchers from Duke University of Medical Center was the first to track-down this reason.
They followed heart patients' health records collected by the American College of Cardiology and the result from the study was surprising. Research team has examined their subjects for almost five years; they found that in comparison to the patients who were going through the worsened depression were less stable than other patients.
Not only this they also found that the patients going through depression have far less recovery speed than other patients. The study also says that worsening gloominess also increases the risk factors for the patients. It can also lead to hospitalization and later, it may also risk their life.
Concluding their research, Duke Team said that 24 to 42% of more than over 5 million of Americans are spending their livelihood under lots of depression. This may further increase the number in Heart Failure patients. According to them, the best way to cure this disease is regular exercise and most important is to be happy.
As per a new study published today in Breast Cancer Research and Treatment, patients of breast cancer are able to manage their pain and other symptoms better if they have family and friends on their side to support them. The study was done with an intention to study that how social support can affect the patient's quality of life.
