American Heart Association is looking forward to work with dedicated women. The organization is hosting a national casting call. This will be conducted at Castelton Square Mall from eleven to one.
The society wants to hear from the women about their loved ones suffering from heart disease.
Among the total participants, five women will be selected. These women will help the organization for the event “GO RED FOR WOMEN” in 2011to 2012.
In this month, the organization wants women to become aware of their blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar readings. These will help to reduce their risk of heart attack and stroke.
Go Red, which started in 2004, provide accurate, and updated information about how heart disease affects women and reverse the perception that heart disease occurs primarily in men.
It has been found that 90 percent women have one or more risk for heart attacks. However, only 55 percent realize it. The heart disease has become the leading killer of women.
Heart disease claims almost 600,000 lives every year. The Dominican Hospital has also joined this national campaign.
Heart Association claims that heart disease kills more American women than any other condition, but only 13 percent of women view the disease as their top health threat.
