Chrysler Earned $116 Million and Posted Growth after 5 Years

Chrysler Group, which had faced bankruptcy and federal bailout in 2009, has posted profits in the first quarter on Monday. Chrysler, auto industry, has earned $116 million in the first quarter and it has also posted profits in the US auto industry.

The company had lost around $197 million in last year. The last profit posted by the company was in second quarter of 2006, 5 years back.

After 5 years, the revenues of the company have increased by 35% to $13.1 billion. The sale has also increased in the company, as the company has sold 18% more vehicles worldwide. The financial performance has improved.

Chrysler was the unit of DaimlerChrysler in 2006 and it is still privately held.

Sergio Marchionne, the Chief Executive of Chrysler and its Italian Partner, Fiat, asserted, “The Company’s rejuvenated product lineup is gaining momentum in the marketplace and resonating with customers”.

Sergio said that the growth of the company is the result of the hard work and dedication of its employees.

Meanwhile, Jesse Toprak, Vice President for Industry trends and insight at TrueCar. com, said that the company wants its vehicles to be more alluring. He said that they will try to make their small-car segment more interesting.
