Children Must Avoid United States Energy Drinks, Doctors say

Children in United States must be careful and avoid drinking United States energy drinks like Red Bull, which contains caffeine and other stimulants that can severely affect their developing bodies, according to the warnings issued by the doctors.

Though energy drinks are being consumed by the people in United States since many years but pediatricians have always suggested to avoid the consumption of same by the kids as these drinks are not good for children or teens and thus according to them, water should be the beverage of choice.

In context to same, doctors have recently issued a report and warned the children in United States to avoid drinking the United States energy drinks as the stimulants they contain put a stress on their developing bodies. Also, the report has highlighted the limitations that must be put on the consumption of the sports drinks that do not contain stimulants, such as Gatorade.

According to the studies made, it has been found that the stimulants can severely disturb the heart's rhythm in a human body and could also lead to seizures in very rare cases. Thus the American Academy of Pediatrics has recommended and concluded that children must avoid energy drinks as “they are never appropriate for children or adolescents."

Dr. Marcie Beth Schneider, a member of the AAP committee on nutrition and co-author of the report said, "Some kids are drinking energy drinks containing large amounts of caffeine, when their goal is simply to rehydrate after exercise. This means they are ingesting large amounts of caffeine and other stimulants, which are dangerous".
