It has come into the notice of Health Canada, that despite of child-safety locks and caps on children’s acetaminophen tablets, the packaging is not effective and can be opened even in the locked position.
Therefore, Tanta Pharmaceuticals has voluntarily recalled some of its children's acetaminophen tablets 160 mg and Children's Strength Acetaminophen Tablets 80 mg; this includes Life Brand and Teddy's Choice acetaminophen products also. Both products come in two flavors — bubble gum and grape.
Such a step has been taken by the health Canada, because recently, few potential faults were found over the child-resistant packaging.
In this regard, Health Canada has stated that "This presents a risk to children who are able to open the bottle and ingest the product. Tanta Pharmaceuticals is requesting that retailers immediately stop sale of this product and return their products to the company".
There exist various stores, from where all these products can be easily purchased; retail locations, including Loblaws, Shoppers Drug Mart and Preferred Pharmacy are a few to name. Besides, there are many other stores across the country.
According to Health Canada, it is strictly monitoring the recall and will soon update the Canadians with new identified information.
