There has been the outbreak of a superbug epidemic in Ontario. This epidemic has claimed the lives of 15 people till now and is still out loose. This is the reason there are a number of speculations being made about the authenticity of the control efforts being made by the authorities.
There has been a declaration by the Niagara Health System that these cases can now termed to be an outbreak due to the increasing number of cases being registered in a few weeks. The name of the disease is Clostridium difficile and this is a highly contagious infection that can be transported from one person to another very easily.
There was a number of cases recorded in the past as well, which went down substantially, but the disease is seeing a sudden upsurge now and this is an issue of concern for the health authorities of the vicinity. The health officials are issuing regulations and preventive measures for the same.
“Handwashing, handwashing, handwashing,” Dr. Matthews said in an interview. “We can’t say it enough. It’s all about getting us out of outbreak and preventing any further spread [of the infection].”
People need to be protected against the disease with the help of proper preventive measures for the same.
