A care home, run by the Loughborough-based Rushcliffe Care Group, has come under news but not for so good reasons. Owing to recent reports that an elderly patient had lost life while another two are hospitalized, investigation has been kicked by Essex County Council and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The care at the privately run Partridge Care Centre in Harlow, Essex has been in news last year also, when the CQC awarded its services with one star for adequate, two for good and three for excellent but none for care deemed poor.

With this revelation, police has arrested a 36-year-old woman from Enfield, north London, on the basis of doubts, but administrative functions are being questioned. Even preliminary forensic report has been sought by the investigation team to decipher the extent of damage the care has done on patients.

A police spokesman said, “Specialist Public Protection officers from Essex Police are also working closely with partners in the Essex Safeguarding Adults Board including the Primary Care Trust, Essex County Council, the Care Quality Commission and Partridge Care Centre in reviewing all care procedures and ensuring the highest possible standards of care for elderly and vulnerable residents”.

Shocked with the report, Essex County Council has assured their complete support to the agencies and other affected residents to make them feel safe and secure.
