Diabetes Research Aided by Students

Sunday morning saw several children taking part in the walk for the purpose of awareness and research of diabetes. This was a fundraiser by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and, the aim is to be able to raise funds for the purpose of better research done in the field of cure for diabetes.

The walk was held bear the Beutter Park in Mishawaka. The funds collected by the walk shall be forwarded to the society for the research and development of better improvised drugs for the treatment of Type 1 diabetes. This is a disease that is spreading its fangs in the depth of the society and ebbing away the health of the people of the vicinity.

Alongside the walk, there were a number of firms exhibiting their products for the monitoring and treatment of diabetes.

Also present at the event were athletes from the hockey team of men as well as the women tennis team. They came as a support source for the Team Notre Dame. It is essential that better cures and techniques for treatment and assessment are found, so that the disease can be eradicated form the society.
