British Columbia Premier Dismisses Way to Curb Smoking

British Columbia’s Premier Christy Clark has dismissed the statement of Health Minister Mike de Jong, who asked to increase the rate of Medical Services Plan for smokers in order to help them curb their habit. But, within 24 hours of the statement, Clarke’s declaration came that she do not support the statement, neither she finds it to be right way.

Clarke said if the Government wanted to take more money from those who smoke then they should raise taxes on tobacco products, but the statement made by Jong is nothing but a wrong way to target their personal life.

Jong publicized the statement in British Columbia Municipalities convention held in Vancouver.

Clarke is known to remain tension free, and for maintaining cheerful face. When asked regarding the same, she was of the view that the reason for her smiling face is that she is an optimist and always work and wish the best for province’s present and future. She further affirmed that she believes in ‘Live and Let Live philosophy’ and want that residents of British Columbia should love each other. For it is the best way to resolve conflicts.
