During a press conference, while briefing the annual findings, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Kaiser Family Foundation, Drew Altman said: “The big increase in premiums comes after one of the longest periods of moderation in premiums – four years in a row of growth of 5 percent or less”.

In addition, Drew Altman said that the huge premium increase under the spell of tame economy and weak recovery process and marked it as a painful incident.

The Kaiser Family Foundation/Health Research & Educational Trust is focused on collecting information from various small as well as large scale employers across the country in order to offer elaborative scenario of patterns among health insurance costs and coverage.

As per reports, the annual survey has reflected a significant increase in the premium costs as well as in the health insurance costs along with 2.1% increase in the real wage, and 3.2% inflation rate during last year.

On the other hand, the Vice President and Director of Kaiser Family Foundation’s Health Care Marketplace Project, Gary Claxton, claimed that the increasing healthcare costs are a major factor that fluctuate huge insurance premiums.

Further, Gary Claxton claimed that in the existing scenario insurers are can be considered as intermediaries between providers and consumers.
