Carrefour, the world’s largest retailer, is concerned over the fact that flat sale for the third quarter of this year has proved below its forecasted profit. In the last three months, it is for the second time when the retailer had to re-estimate its forecasted profit.

It has been reported that the sales of third quarter was meagerly higher than that of last year’s. The sales for the three months ending in September were just 0.3% higher than previously. However, in Europe the sales of the company fell by 2.2%.

The retailer did quite well in France as its sale rose by 17%. The retailer rely maximum on France as 40% of its revenue comes from the stores located in France. Carrefour is now planning to introduce branded products so that more customers could be attracted towards it.

Moreover, it is planning to bringing changes in the appearance of its retails by making them appear upgraded with technologies. A new retail dubbed ‘Carrefour Planets’ will be launched soon. The group is hoping of introducing
82 Carrefour Planets by the end of this year.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the benchmark Stoxx Europe 600 Index has succumbed losses of 0.2%. Since February 17, the Stoxx 600 has witnessed a fall of 18%. Although Stoxx 600 witnessed a plunge, MSCI Asia Pacific Index rose by 1.3%. The global crisis is causing the market to behave unpredictability, it is hoped that soon steps will be taken to reduce the global crisis.
