Victoria Beckham busted into tears after winning the Designer Brand of the Year award at the British Fashion Awards.

Controlling her sobbing, the former Spice Girl affirmed she was trying to control her tears but she could not and it is something of which she is proud of. She won the award by beating Tom Ford, Burberry and Stella McCartney.

The mother-of-four Victoria said it is something which her children could take to school and could proudly say that their mother has won it. During her welcome speech, she thanked her friend and partner Simon Fuller, her team and also thanked the entire British fashion industry.

She did not forget to thank her children and husband whom she said to be her support. While talking about her husband David Beckham, she affirmed this award would not have been possible without her interminable support.

Movie bigwigs like Kate Hudson, Kate Moss and Prime Minister’s wife Samantha Cameron were some of the many who clapped for her while sitting in audience. Her joy got doubled when she got award from her friend Marc Jacobs.

It was complete star studied event where Sarah Burton was also present who got Designer of the Year award for her work at fashion brand Alexander McQueen. The Outstanding Achievement Award in fashion was given to veteran designer Paul Smith, who has tried to present something new throughout his career, while Alexa Chung got the British Style award.

The event took place at London's Savoy Hotel and was hosted by George Lamb and Lauren Laverne. Harold Tillman, the Chairman of the British Fashion Council, congratulated all the winners and asserted, “They demonstrate the breadth and creativity London has to offer and the fashion brands and designers that are based here set the trends across the globe”.
