In a recent research it has been revealed that more women have ditched the old fashion of feeding their babies. Breastfeeding, which is an important part of the early few months of the life of an infant, is being ditched by many women.

It was reported by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare that more and more women are giving up breastfeeding for their infants. They were of the view that a mere 40% of the mothers are presently still breastfeeding their babies, while the others have found tinned milk, as a substitute.

According to health guidelines however, children need to given mother’s milk till a period of 6 months at least.

The study was conducted by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, included 28,000 parents. People need to be given better awareness talks about breast feeding. It is extremely important for the young bodes of the infants to receive milk from the other, because it is rich in nutrients, and is very essential for the proper growth and development of the child.

Most of the people in the country tend to breastfeed their babies for a period of 2 to 3 months and they never continue till the limit prescribed by the health authorities. This not only blesses the child with enough nutrition, it also tends to bond the mother and the child further, which is very important to keep the child safe and the other away from post delivery stress and depression.

The working mothers tend to do injustice to their young babies when they pick packed milk for them rather than giving them their own. It is essential that women understand the importance of breast feeding and give enough nutrition to their children
