Toyota India Recalls Etios Sedan and Liva Hatchback

It has been reported that Toyota has recalled almost 40,000 units of its Etios Sedan and Liva Hatchback cars over safety suspicions, with all units being manufactured in October. The recall has resulted because of damaged hose pipe and fuel pipe. However, it has been reported that the cars with fault are not likely to create any sort of safety harm to the users.

The Deputy Managing Director of Marketing at Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd, Sandeep Singh informed that they the company will be holding an inspection over the cars manufactured in the month of October. Mr. Singh informed, “Our dealers are contacting customers to get their cars inspected. We are in no hurry to complete this exercise and we'll inspect the cars as and when customers bring them to the showrooms”.

It has been informed that the cars in the news have helped the manufacturers in booking record sales as they were in high demand in the market soon after the introduction. This year, the car manufacturer has witnessed a surge of
89% in its local sales.

In 2010, Toyota had to recall a large number of its units from all over the world but, Indian customers were not affected by it.
