Alaska Volcano Makes Ash Go Up To 15,000 Feet High in the Sky

It has been recently revealed that a volcanic eruption in Alaska led to set up a huge cloud of ash in the Aleutian Islands. This also gave rise to a lot of speculation about the security of aircraft traffic in the air and the scientists had to call for more security to make sure that everything went on smoothly.

It was revealed in the images released by Alaska Volcano Observatory, how there was a huge cloud of ash that emerged due to the volcanic eruption, going 15000 feet in the air. Survey scientist from U. S. geological science John Power was of the view that it was a small explosion. He further added that they don’t expect that this explosion would be likely to cause any major trouble for the international aircrafts, and there isn’t any reason to worry.

The alert levels have swelled up though and scientists are conducting tests to find out whether there was another eruption in store that was causing the unrest.

“Unfortunately, Cleveland is one of those that is so remote, we have no on-ground monitoring or instrumentation there, so it's hard for us to pinpoint things any more accurately than we can do with satellite imagery”, revealed Power.

Though the data collected from the satellite doesn’t give out chances of a possible explosion, there might have been something major to send ashes so high in the sky.

It has further been added that there might be some of the same in the future, which might exceed to be 20,000 feet above the sea level.

Cleveland sure does fall under the 130 volcanic fields in Alaska, and it has been revealed that 90 among them have been seen to be active in the past 10, 000 years.
