Vita Health Products Recalls Medicine Due To Faulty French Labeling

A French labeling error has been found on Vita Health Products muscle and back pain medication products. Owing to which, the company has voluntarily recalled the sold products.

Vita officials said labeling in French states that these capsules are meant for adults and children above two years. But in reality, it should not be consumed by children who are younger than 12. The labeling is given in two languages: French and English.

However, the prescription in English is correct and clearly states that the medicine is intended for adults and children above 12 years. Even, the side label directions correctly states that it should not be consumed by children younger than 12.

Health Canada has announced a public advisory message about French labeling error. Advisory reads, "Ingestion by children less than 12 years of age can result in acetaminophen overdose and may cause serious health consequences including liver damage”. The officials said that till now, they have not come across any compliant and have also announced that parents should immediately take their children to doctor if their child has consumed the product.

Vita officials said even if parents have bought the medicine for their children who are younger than 12 years then they could even call them at their help line number 1-800-665-8820 in order to know how they could obtain refund.

Problem has been found in five lots number, 0K078B27ZI, 0K078B29VL, IA100B2AQH, 1H106B2GVP and 1H106B2HJJ. In French, it states "Adultes et enfants de 2 ans et plus" which, in English, means for adults as well as for kids older than two years. It correct version should have been "Ne pas administrer aux enfants ages de moins de 12 ans" which means children below 12 years cannot consume the medicine.

It is advised that check lot number and then buy the product and those who are having it, should also make sure that they are not having the wrong pack.
