Reports have confirmed that Research in Motion (RIM) is working to ground some of its handsets, along with several handsets that are running with the latest Blackberry 10 operating system, before it finally passes the models to its developers to make their early look over the devices and recommend their corrections (if needed).
According to sources, the Canadian mobile maker last week lost its dominance from Apple Iphone in Canada with issues of calling its BBX, following which the company has to drop the name and continue with its numerical name.
There is a big list of company names like Apple or Blackberry, which are running in competition with Google's Android, along with the RIM which is presently facing challenges in the Microsoft and Nokia Windows Phone alliance.
In an interview with Bloomberg, RIM's V-P for Developer Relations, Mr. Alec Saunders, said: “It's a huge step forward on our path to eventually launching BB10, Its tangible evidence of the company making progress to finally shipping the device”.
He further added that RIM has plans to release approx 2,000 handsets to developers, final image of which will be entirely different than the ones that have been handed to the developers to work upon.
