Recently, the news of Apple’s device being affected with Flashback malware caused a stir among the users of the devices. A large number of Apple’s devices were reported of being affected with the virus which boosted the transfer of spam.

However, a Mac developer has claimed of finding a tool which is capable of detecting the virus. The tool has already been posted. The size of the tool is around 38KB. The creator of the tool is Juan Leon, who is a software engineer at Garmin International.

It has been informed that the tool detects the malware through FlashBack Checker. The procedure requires entering multiple commands in Terminal. The FlashBack Checker informs the user about the presence of malware, through written warnings. If no sign of malware is found, then it highlights a dialogue box reading, “No signs of infection were found”.

The Russian security firm has informed that about 2% of the Mac devices have been adversely hit by the malware. The Flashback has been in news since last September. However, last week only, it was brought to light that the application, FlashBack checker, is capable of detecting the malware, which has made many Mac users restless in the past few months.
