Shave Your Head, Support McGrath Foundation and Contribute in Helping Cancer Pat

Cancer is a phase of life which not only seeks physical support but emotional support plays a much important role in helping the sufferers to fight back.

Late last year, when Sandra wife of Yanderra concreter Phillip Beech came to know that she is on the second stage of breast cancer, all her wishes from life came to a standstill. But the support she got from all her relatives, friends and even the nurses at her chemotherapy centre were just amazing to bring her out of that trauma.

Her husband to support her, decided to shave his head so that he could contribute a little in the McGrath Foundation. This foundation has been specifically formulated to help cancer patients. They conduct a special event after short spans of time during which they ensure that all such patients are pampered and entertained.

This time, the event was from 4pm onwards till 8pm on Saturday at Local Pools and Spas in Smeaton Grange. It included live music, jumping castles, a sausage sizzle and swimming for a gold coin donation. Along with Mr. Phil Beech, good friend Amy Andrews also decided to get his head shaved for supporting Sandra.

He also wanted to acknowledge and help funding McGrath Foundation nurses who with their warmth, love and feelings and with their sheer hard efforts try to emotionally support the cancer patients to a great extent. As told by Mrs. Beech, “Two McGrath Foundation nurses at Campbelltown Hospital had been a huge help through the emotional side of cancer. It's not just the physical needs that need to be met; it's the emotional whirlwind that you go through".

By introducing them to the counselors, and giving gifts and a chance to attend such beautiful and helpful programs; they try their level best to pull the breast cancer patients out of the emotional trauma.
