While there is hardly any doubt over the efforts made by Macmillan Cancer Support, in its annual sponsored walk, they have made a call for all the Coleraine Times readers to join them. Starting on April 19, this walk would start from Portstewart Town Hall at 6.30pm and goes along the coast road to Portrush and back again.
With Macmillan nursing teams supporting every hospital across Northern Ireland including Causeway and the Robinson Hospital, it has become all the more imperative for people to come forward and be a part of the noble cause. Whatever the funds would be raised through the walk would be injected in the charity for the welfare of those who are struggling with cancer and to financially support their families.
With over 700,000 people of working age identified with cancer in the UK, it is hard to imagine the extent the disease has affected one and all. Living with cancer is even more difficult for working people as their families are financially dependent on them, and with them being subjected to such a scary disease is an added worry for the families for their future life.
It is noteworthy point that not all are comfortable working once they are through chemotherapy as the treatment leaves one totally exhausted. Though there are few who seam through it easily with their strong will, there are many who find it like a living hell. It is required for one and all to understand what one goes through when he or she is diagnosed with the disease which is slowly percolating in the countries around the globe.
All those who are interested, to be a part of the noble cause being performed by the cancer charity since so many years, can get in touch with Anna White on 07866331176.
