If you are thinking that the researchers are making a computer of crabs or the next computer you will see in the market will be powered by crabs, then wait this is not what the main issue of this story is. But the researchers are just trying to reveal that the real movement of crabs in bunch is basically well defined as any computer logic.
The above claims are coming in from researchers at Japan's Kobe University and the United Kingdom's University of the West of England.
Researchers have explained in their statements how well defined movements are actually followed by soldier crabs, which always follow in a geometrically constrained environment. These features of them can be effectively used to follow logic gates.
Or in easier language, one can say that researchers are trying to replicate the fundamental workings of a computer with those of the soldier crabs, which always grow in large groups and the species is usually found in lagoon environments.
Explaining their nature, researchers added that no leader leads the swarms of soldier crabs rather the crabs placed at the edges of the group actually exhibit the leadership qualities and keep the group together.
This sometimes takes a twist and soldier crabs rotate with edged ones coming into the interior and interior crabs rotating to the outside following their leadership roles ahead.
Also two swarms if meet in motion they start merging and continue in direction, which is the sum of the two swarms’ velocities. Computing starts here!
Based upon similar facts, researchers decided to create a system of channels in an environment that funnel the crabs (like any electrons flowing through) and could serve their purpose of building a very reliable OR logic gate of creating the AND gate and later following some alterations to improve its rate of success.
According to a new study, scientists have unraveled the mystery behind the sensation of itch. The scientists said that neurons that detect itch rely on a newly identified chemical that sends "I need to scratch" message to the brain. The study was conducted on mice.
