In a blog post, Microsoft noted, "In the next significant preview release of the Windows Store service, we will significantly expand our global coverage". Microsoft is hopeful that its plans would help it in gaining greater revenue market demand.

The expansion would also provide local developers to update the applications and to submit them in the stores. It is expected that Microsoft would record revenue of $17.17 billion in its third quarter earnings report. However, there are a few who are of the view that Microsoft would succumb to losses.

Meanwhile, Nokia has claimed of having sold 2 million Lumia devices. Market analysts are of the view that the sales of Lumia devices would impact the revenue of Microsoft.
