As per findings, it has been suggested that finally, people have started linking global warming and extreme weather. Scientists have been suggesting since long that the global warming is not just a consequence of high temperatures, but also due to extreme weathers. The theories regarding the linkage of the two have been out since decades, but people took long to understand the linkage.

However, it has been illustrated that the understanding of the concept between the people is not just due to the awareness spread by the scientists but also due to the fact that public themselves is facing such severe weather conditions since long.

Rather, the reports put forth by a survey conducted at the Yale Project on Climate Communication, by Anthony Leiserowitz, suggest that a large proportion of the American population, approximately 82% has started believing that the global warming was the reason behind the worse conditions administered due to weather conditions.

Moreover, 72% believe the high temperature measured during the winter of December 2011 and January 2012 was due to global warming, 70% stated a rise in the summer temperature in the US in 2011 was also due to global warming, 69% lay down the condition of drought administered in Texas and Oklahoma in 2011, record snowfall in the US in 2010 and 2011 (61%), the Mississippi River floods in the spring of 2011 (63%), and Hurricane Irene (59%).

Mr. Leiserowitz stated that during the survey, which he carried out last month, he undertook the reviews of 1,008 adults.

However, it has been discovered that the findings of the survey were almost similar to the ones obtained from the previous studies. But the major factor encountered was that it took long for people to understand the connection between them.
