It has been recently revealed in a report that the firm UTC has found newer directions with the aid of the end of the Shuttle program. It was further added that the firm United Technologies, has revealed recently that it is soon going to increase its efforts towards space exploration in the time to come. They have also decided to sell Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne, which is a firm that manufactures rocket engines as well as liquid-propulsion systems. The firm had been owned by UTC for about seven years.
It is expected that the sale of this firm shall tend to raise a sum of about $3billion that shall be used for the purpose of buying parts of the Goodrich Corp, the firm supplying aerospace parts.
“Growth will be limited at Rocketdyne. It's still a very good business. It's a national asset … but unfortunately, without a national space policy, growth will be limited for some time”, said Greg Hayes, chief financial officer at United Technologies.
It was revealed by Rocketdyne President Jim Maser, that the future of the firm is going t be bright even if the current plan of action isn’t give out very clearly for now. It remains to be seen what the plan of action of these space firms in the time to come, and how they contribute towards planning a brighter technological tomorrow, in the field of space development.
