A study was conducted by a team of researchers at the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, which found out that most of the people in Sweden do not brush their teeth in the correct manner.

It has been revealed by the team that though the population brushes with fluoride toothpaste, they do not exercise their teeth in way that could prevent tooth decay.

The study included nearly 2,013 Swedes, 15 to 80 years in age, which led the researchers to conclude that only 10% of them brush their teeth effectively. It was found that this was a result of their childhood habit, which was difficult for them to drop even if they were taught the correct way in their later life.

However, the group has found that almost 80% of them were satisfied with their way of brushing their teeth. It is being said that teaching how to attain the complete effect of fluoride toothpaste can help in enhancing people’s oral health.

Seeing the condition, the British Dental Health Foundation has also launched an oral health campaign namely National Smile Month the previous day. It is being believed that the campaign would do a great deal in combating the problem.
