Comcast Cable has announced a sooner launch of its new X1 cloud-based DVR user interface in Boston for Xfinity, a recent report has revealed.
It has been told by the company on Monday that the device being promised since months would finally be seen in markets, starting from Boston. The other markets could sell it sometime later this year.
As told by the company, the X1 interface would be integrated into an iPhone app also, which would allow to replace the slow virtual keyboard currently integrated into its current DVR UI. The interface would be available to Triple Play customers only i. e. those who TV, Internet and voice.
The report has found that the interface to be introduced would provide the latest information to its subscribers as well as it would offer recommendations about shows that view would possibly like to watch.
"X1 is a giant leap forward, essentially transforming our video product from a hardware experience to a software experience, allowing us to innovate faster and more aggressively", said Marcien Jenckes, Senior Vice President and General Manager of video services.
Also, the next-generation "Dayview" UI would provide a Metro-inspired look at all services, the report says.
With effect from June 6, EU has imposed anti-dumping tariffs on imports of crystalline silicon PV panels, cells and wafers from China.
