Chrysler Recalls 2010 Jeep Wranglers

It has been revealed in a report recently that around 87,000 Jeep Wranglers in the US are being recalled by Chrysler fearing a risk of fires.

As per the findings of the report, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that debris could be possible caught between a plate protecting the transmission and the catalytic converter, which is meant for controlling pollution.

It is being said that the converter is part of the exhaust system, which uses heat and precious metals to do its task. The recall has been declared as a result of almost 14 complaints of fires from these Wranglers made before July 14, 2010.

The wranglers contain automatic transmissions, the report finds. However, the company claims that no injuries have been known to it so far. Also, it insists that debris can be caught either through tall brush or when the SUVs are made off-road.

But, the manufacturer is recalling the Wranglers with the promise that the same would be fixed without any charge. It would replace the plate with a bar that would deny debris to be caught and the work would probably begin this month only.
