According to a national survey of the 40 largest cities in the United States, San Francisco has been rated at top most position. The data, which was released by the Trust for Public Land, has found that Sacramento, Boston and New York and DC were other four to cities.

D. C. residents are quite happy with the decision. The survey found that 96% of D. C. residents have access to parks, and there is just 10 minutes walking distance for them to reach at parks. This has led them earn four of a possible five "park benches" as per the ParkScore rating system.

Though surveyors were happy with the parks condition in the D. C., they are of the view that condition needs to be further improved in Ward 1 in Northwest and Ward 5 in North East.

Peter Harnik, Director of the Center for City Park Excellence at the Trust for Public Land, was of the view that they have been working hard to maintain parks for long years. Now, it seems that it is worth it.

Park maintenance and improved access to parks have become one of the major concerns for the city people as well as authorities concerned.
