It has been recently revealed in a report that having too much calcium might be responsible for increasing risk of heart attacks. As strange as it might sound, some studies have proved that this might be true.

There are thousands and thousands of people in the world suffering from osteoporosis and the doctor’s advice them to take calcium for the same. It has been seen in this study that this might be responsible for raising the risk of heart attacks in them. This is something which has to be studied further, because

"It's irresponsible for scientists to advise osteoporosis patients cut out calcium supplements on the basis of one flawed survey, particularly when the link between calcium, vitamin D and bone health is endorsed by the European Food Safety Authority”, said Dr. Carrie Ruxton of the Health Supplements Information Service.

It remains to be seen whether the health authorities study the same further so that a proper guideline can be issued for the patients on whether or not to have too many calcium supplements in the. The study needs to be further conducted in order to draw definite solutions for the same.
