Prevalent Loopholes in Community Services

Prevalent Loopholes in Community Services

It seems that there are a lot of problems still for community services, as per reports. It was told during an NHS meeting that there are loopholes prevalent in the system. It was made possible only after an independent team was called to track the Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General hospitals.

While confirming the same, Stephen Duncan, national head of the Intensive Support Team for emergency care, claimed that impact of prevalent problems in the system is quite visible now and there is need to ensure that the underlying problems are being managed within safe time. Moreover, it was also told that efforts are made with acute trust, social services, the ambulance service, community services and GPs, so that something can be done in this regard.

"We don't say no to anyone coming into A&E but we get a lot of 'nos' when we try to discharge patients”, said Maggie Arnold, the trust's emergency care programme director, while claiming that there are many patients released before time and that’s what makes things all the more serious.

There is need to know a lot more about the ground level problems so that things can be sorted out for one and all.
