Widow Awarded $3 Million as Settlement After She Lost Her Husband

In a shocking case, it has been told that widow of a US man who died due to heart attack would be given as much as US$3 million. It was told that the man had sex couple of times with another woman and man, and later, he collapsed. The woman found his in unconscious state on floor on March 12, 2009.

Though William Martinez, a police officer, was taken to a physician at the Cardiovascular Group in Lawrenceville, Georgia, but the doctors failed to identify his problem. Had the man sent to a hospital at that time, he could have survived. It was told that the man should have been told to avoid any kind of physical stress and that’s what could have saved his life too.

"There was enough for him to make the call and to know that he should have sent this man directly to the hospital to get a stress test that clearly would have identified and diagnosed his blocked heart arteries”, said Lawyer Rod Edmond.

Looking at the evidences available, a Gwinnett County jury awarded the wife of the man with hefty amount as settlement. Though initially, family was asking for $5 million, the jury ordered for US$3 million to the family of the
31-year-old.
