It has been revealed by a new report that the ACT Government would announce on Tuesday about the allocation of thousands of dollars of money for healthcare services.
The ACT has decided to bring improvement in the kind of health care being provided at hospitals after complaints such as longer waiting times by parents and improper care facilities.
The report has found that the government has decide to spend a total of hundreds of millions on services, including $109.5 million for frontline services and more than $31.6 million for acute services. It would make availability of 28 public hospital beds and 15 for hospital-in-the-home program.
Also, a sum of $238 million would be invested for new and ongoing health construction projects. Along with it, $12.6 million would go to emergency department so that hospitals could meet national targets.
Further, as per the report, it has also thought of recruiting 150 extra nurses, doctors and associated health workers. It is being said that $12.1 million would also go to Neonatal intensive care at the Women's and Children's Hospital and some money would be spent on extra intensive care unit beds and on reduction of surgery waits.
The same would be done in next financial year, says the report.
