A woman has managed to get a hefty compensation after it was proved that she was infected by genital herpes by a retired dentist from Portland. While the name of the woman has been kept under covers, it was found that the woman is 49-year-old.

It was through a dating site that she met with the man and indulged in sexual relation. However, things changed for her later when she suffered from painful outbreaks and depression. This is not for the first time that such a case has come to light when herpes transmission has occurred, but such lawsuits are quite rare. It has further been claimed by Randall Vogt, the attorney for the woman that such case makes the involved people embarrassed to speak up and that’s why such cases don’t reach at the desired results.

It was in the year 1991 that the man got the infection. However, he made it clear that he wasn’t aware that his infection is contagious at the time he was having sex. If reports from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are to be believed, there are fair chances of one from four to get infected from the same, and that’s what makes it all the more serious.
