Britons Overlook Cannabis Risks

Britons Overlook Cannabis Risks

It seems that potential side effects of cannabis are largely overlooked by young users as a recent report claimed that as many as 33% of third of the British population who consume cannabis are under the misconception that cannabis is safe. There is dire need for one and all to understand the severity of the same else things would become all the more complicated in the time to come.

It is to be noted that cannabis intake can escalate the risk of cancer by as much as 20 times and that's what makes it all the more serious and urgent that awareness is being raised.

It was further showed in the report published by the British Lung Foundation that there are certain compounds which are present in cigarettes as well as cannabis. But, the note worthy point is that the way cannabis is smoked, there are chances of the strong compounds to remain in the human body.

With the report getting the attention of one and all, it's being expected that there is need for a public health education programme to kick so that the issue can be addressed with immediate effect. There is need for extensive research to be done on the world's most widely used illicit drug before it's too late.
