As per members of a provincial health coalition, it has been revealed that the government is trying to mislead Ontarians. They were of the view that the government is planning to cut more than $3 billion from the country’s health care system.

Natalie Mehra, who is director of the Ontario Health Coalition, was of the view that it is very important for people to know that significant cuts are coming their way. “Our home-care system is broken. It's been broken for a long time ... Health care of the future is not possible with the way home care is being delivered”, she further affirmed.

The coalition has demanded that there should be no cuts on beds, as otherwise waiting lists time will get further increased. In addition, they have also asked to provide adequate funding for maintaining existing services, so that care homes and hospitals do not have to face many problems after facing cuts.

Mehta said that they have made some other demands as well, like they do not want privatization to take place, so they have asked to stop the privatization of health care services. They have asked the government to open consultation centers; so that people can also participate and suggest ways by which funding can be increased.
