It seems that the incessant efforts made by Ridgewood’s Valley Hospital have finally got the recognition as it has been able to get an ‘A’ grade for patient health and safety. It was done as part of a country-wide evaluation, in which as much as 2,600 general hospitals in the United States were examined on various parameters.
This drive has been spearheaded by the Leapfrog Group, a not-for-profit organization of private healthcare experts and employer purchasers of healthcare.
“We congratulate the hospitals that earned an ‘A’ and we look forward to the day when all hospitals in the U. S. will earn the highest scores for putting patient safety first”, said Leah Binder, President and CEO of The Leapfrog Group, while confirming the news.
It was further explained on the survey’s website, hospitalsafetyscore. org that the hospital managed to score really well in Safe Practice Measures – such as nurse training, worker hygiene and teamwork training, and that’s what made it all the more deserving to be at the top most position.
In response to the same, Mitchell Rubinstein, M. D., Vice President of Medical Affairs, The Valley Hospital, claimed that they are really happy with the results and would continue doing better and better in the tome to come to ensure that there is no compromise made on the front of patient safety and quality care.
