In order to cover up the financial need for planetary exploration, there would be range of fund raising events done, including bake sales and car washes. It has been known as in consequent of the cut of $300 million in NASA budget, the organization has been at a loss of conducting many projects.

It is believed that a strong robotic planetary exploration program is quite needed at this moment for a human planetary exploration program and that’s what is making some American astro-brains to come forward for such events which are expected to take place worldwide.

“It’s important these cuts be repaired to maintain U. S. leadership in this area of science, to prevent mission cuts, and to prevent student and research job losses”, said Alan Stern of the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colo., who is one of the sponsors of the 20 fund- and attention-raising events.
