Technology Can Make Things A Lot Easier For Doctors As Well As Patients

While there is no doubt that technology has gripped almost all sectors of economy, it has been found that even doctors are not aloof from them as they are seen tracking their patients on social networking sites.

While there are doctors who are not that comfortable with the new fad and limit themselves with pen and paper, there are few who have started using Twitter, Facebook pages and other sites to communicate with their patients. “This is something I do in between checkups. It's much easier for me to shoot you an email and show you a blog post than it is to phone you back”, said Kansas City pediatrician Natasha Burgert, who claimed some or the other way such tools have become part of the system.

There are some trivial issues which parents face which can be easily addressed through e mails, which saves hell lot of time and suffice the purpose too. Having said that there can be no replacement to office visits or other personal contact with patients, it is highly imperative that serious health concerns are being dealt personally and there is no compromise made on the same.

There is need to strike a balance between actual doctor-patient contact and other communications tools so that no one gets affected by the recent developments in technology.
