In the wake of addressing the issue of prescription painkillers, there would soon be electronic prescription issued. It was made possible after New York lawmakers gave the green signal to a legislation in the same context, and it was done after Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Gov. Andrew Cuomo agreed for the same.

It has been made clear that doctors would have to share the prescription electronically in the coming two years. It has been further made clear that there would not be any form of mistake or misinterpretation tolerated in the same context.

With the news getting applauds from one and all, Cuomo said, “….the legislation passed today will enable our state to better crack down on the illegal trafficking of painkillers and help prevent more untimely fatalities”. It has been known that there have been many families who were affected with wrong priscription but now, things would surely change in the time to come.

It is believed that this new move would be able to make the overall system all the more effective and efficient, thereby making the life of patients all the more comfortable. It would be worth seeing how effective this move proves out to be in the end for patients.
